Two visits to Daytona this month. I did a Sodi sprint race on Friday, and set a new PB of 1.15.381 which landed me in 6th place out of 17 which I was very happy with. CS Karting won the day with a 1.13.265 and got herself another trophy. Unfortunately my camera failed, so I decided to have another go today. It was rather less successful….I had an awful start, losing 2 places immediately, and then making the mistake of slowing down for a yellow flag when everyone else decided to ignore it and fly past me. There were 30 drivers on the track, and lots of bumping and hand flapping. I had a good race though against a chap in a black and white helmet, and nearly got him at the end but was foiled by a yellow flag on the penultimate lap, so had to settle for 8th place. I was a full second slower than Friday, mainly due to traffic and kart number 10 driving like a complete willy. I did chuckle when I cut inside him near the end and he got taken out by someone using his own tactics of using other drivers as brakes. Time for some more practice on the pc at this track before I attempt another race I think.
