Saturday and Sunday were spent at Daytona MK for a couple of sprint practices. You only get 20 minutes, and it’s a bit pricey for my liking, but it’s outside so the heat is more bearable than teamsport’s cookers. Both sessions were very busy with a mix of abilities and lots of flags, so getting clean laps in was hard. Managed to get in the 1.15’s again though, so I was quite happy with that, though I need to find a way to chop at least a second off to be competitive. There’s a few corners I definitely need to work on, turn 8 (I think!) leads on to the back straight, and I’m not coming out of that anywhere near as fast as I want to. I mostly managed to avoid hitting people, which was nice; some people make it hard though by weaving all over the place and not sticking to a line. Off to Norfolk for a couple of days next week, so I’ll be hopefully doing Ellough Park, but they don’t allow cameras, which is probably just as well because I’m getting frustrated with my Insta x4. Sometimes it randomly stops recording, and I have yet to manage to get any GPS stats out of it. Think I’ll try the x6 when it’s out and get a dedicated GPS thingy.
